At the Exchange in North Shields today, we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the capture of the Engima code books by local boy Thomas Brown. His action in taking the books from a sinking German U boat helped to shorten the war and earned him a George Medal. One of the rooms in the Exchange is called the Thomas Brown Room and this had been tastefully redecorated for the occasion.
The Chamber is a business organisation in the town of North Shields; with over 100 businesses currently members of the Chamber. Find out what’s going on with the Chamber and North Shields today.
